Rashmi Sinha is an Indian Women Entrepreneurs, businessperson, and CEO of SlideShare. SlideShare is a San Francisco-based company.

Rashmi Sinha was recognized as top 8 women in the Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs list of Fortune magazine in 2012. Rashmi is also one of the 20 most influential global Indian women in January 2015.

Early life and Education:

Rashmi was born in Lucknow, India, and grew up in Kolkata. She completed her B.A and M.A in psychology from Allahabad University.

She was grown up in India and earned a Ph.D. in cognitive neuropsychology at Brown University.

She went to the University of California, Berkeley for a postdoc. There she switched her focus to human-computer interaction.

Personal life:

She married the co-founder and CTO of SlideShare, Jonathan Boutelle.

The SlideShare Story:

She always had a desire to start her own user-experience consultancy and embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship.

As she enjoyed solving the practical problems of people, she co-founded Uzanto, a user experience consulting company.

The company worked for various companies like eBay, Blue Shield, AAA, etc. In the year 2005, her first foray product with MindCanvas (a game-like software for customer research) was unveiled.

Rashmi inaugurated Slideshare’s Indian office in Delhi which has nearly 20 employees.

In October 2006, the startup software called SlideShare connected people through rich content and was patronized by celebrities.

Slideshare has not followed the trend of advertisements, It generated organic traffic by a search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing. It had 29 million unique visitors per year.

Basically, SlideShare is a site for people where people share presentations online in just six months.

SlideShare is helping professionals connect through content. LinkedIn acquired SlideShare for over $100 million in the year 2012.

Sinha’s vigor makes her a successful entrepreneur. Her leadership attributes and vision is inspirational. Rashmi Sinha herself is a great woman entrepreneur of worth.
