Unacademy is an eLearning platform. The three founders- Gaurav Munjal, Hemesh Singh, and Roman Saini founded Unacademy.
Unacademy occupies over 3 million+ subscribers on its platform, and 250 million+ views on its official YouTube channel. Unacademy is a major part of the Indian educational economy and is now exploring and entering the Indonesian and Brazilian Education markets as well.
The backstory of Founders of Unacademy
Gaurav Munjal founded the e-learning platform, Unacademy. He is the founding father of the corporation, incorporating building, scaling up, and selling businesses earlier. The currently known company named Flatchat, which is brought over by Commonfloor, was founded by Gaurav Munjal. The company flat.to was further renamed as Flatchat, a flat-sharing company.
Initially, Unacademy was introduced only on YouTube, when the founder of the company Gaurav Munjal was functioning on flat.to.
Roman Saini was his principal content creator and co-founder of the educational platform. Roman Saini was the youngest person to clear the IAS examination.
Concentrating on courses that require relearning
Gaurav Munjal brought Roman Saini to onboard, and later they started creating high-valued intensive courses which are quite similar to the preparation for IAS concentrating on certain subjects.
In a country like India, there are lakhs of aspirants who are preparing for the civil services examinations. Unacademy made recognition of what they were offering to provide guaranteed results to increase education and achievement.
A free YouTube tuition is offered by a young IAS officer.
The platform is targeting those courses which require regularity in learning the topic, so people would keep on returning. For instance, English courses, Coding courses, and model paper practice.
Monetizing By Launching A Premium Service
The most crucial part of launching anything free is the strategy or you can say the ability to monetize these days. The biggest disadvantage for other popular education channels is that they monetize their popularity at the right time.
The founders of Unacademy were smart enough to push their faithful followers toward the application and their own website. They follow the subscription-based model on the app and website.
